Born as the third generation of a knitwear manufacturer, I grew up surrounded by colorful knits from young age. After graduating from art school, I became a designer and spent over thirty years involved in planning at apparel companies and our own factory, sending many knits to both domestic and international markets. I have also been working as an illustrator since my twenties.  I started painting after retiring from my job at the manufacturer.

 

I would be delighted if I could create something that warmly envelops people, just like knit products. My cat, who lives with me, often appears in my works.

ニットメーカーの三代目として生まれ、幼少の頃よりカラフルなニットの中で育ちました。美大卒業後はデザイナーとなり、三十数年間アパレル企業や自社工場で企画に携わり、たくさんのニットを国内外に送り出しました。20代からイラストレーターを並行していましたが、メーカーでの仕事引退後から絵を描き始めました。

ニット製品と同じように人々をあたたかく包み込むようなものが創れたら嬉しいです。同居の猫がよく作品に登場しています。
